The assumption of the presidency by Prof. Dr. med. Caroline Pot and the election of Dr. med. Silke Biethahn as vice president, the SNS marks a historic moment: for the first time, two female neurologists are leading the society.

With Prof. Dr. med. Caroline Pot, MD, a clinically active researcher and neurologist at CHUV Lausanne, and Dr. med. Silke Biethahn neurologist in practice in Aarau, a management team with complementary professional profiles is taking over the leadership of the SNS.

This combination of university research, clinical activity and outpatient care emphasises the comprehensive diversity and range of neurological care in Switzerland.

At the same time, the new presidency represents the geographical and linguistic diversity of the country - an aspect that is particularly important in a nationally networked, interprofessional and interdisciplinary specialist society.

Prof. Dr. med. Caroline Pot emphasises: "I am very much looking forward to the coming years under this committed and visionary leadership - and to the impetus they will give to neurology in research, clinical practice and teaching."
