Get to Know the Board

Welcome to "Get to Know the Board",  where the members of the Swiss Young Neurologists (SAYN) introduce themselves on a more personal level.

Discover their professional backgrounds, their visions, and their motivations for advancing neurology in Switzerland. We invite you to take a behind-the-scenes look and meet the people driving our mission forward.

PRESIDENT | Annaelle Zietz

"My name is Annaelle Zietz and I am the vice president of the Swiss Association of Young Neurologist. Through my work with SAYN I aim to further improve the education and working conditions of young neurologist and shade light to relevant topics. I am grateful to represent future neurologist and I will use my voice to advocate for a strong neurology through an open communication and engagement with colleagues and patients."

VICE-PRESIDENT | Katharina Jury

"My name is Katharina Jury. I have been an active SAYN member since 2021 and joined the SAYN board as secretary in 2023. I am currently a fourth year neurology resident at the Luzerner Kantonsspital. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching movies and television, skiing, and spending time with my dog. Through my involvement in the SAYN, I hope to help expand and strengthen the network of young neurologists in Switzerland and to improve and facilitate access to resources and educational opportunities for neurology trainees."

PAST-PRESIDENT | Martina Göldlin

The SAYN board consists of nine highly motivated colleagues who dedicate part of their valuable free time to neurological education. Our work takes place almost exclusively outside of regular working hours, and all contributions are made on a voluntary basis. Almost all members of our board are not only involved in demanding clinical work but also engage in research and/or have families. The fact that they still find the energy to volunteer their time is by no means something I take for granted, and I would like to sincerely thank all board members for their tireless dedication!

My hope for SAYN is that in the future there will continue to be enough people who are passionate about shaping the future of neurology!

MEDIA OFFICER | Adnan Mujanovic

"Hey there - my name is Adnan Mujanović, the Media Officer of the Swiss Association of Young Neurologists! Through my position, I am dedicated to leveraging the power of social media to enhance communication and collaboration within the neurology community. By promoting educational initiatives and fostering a strong digital presence, I aim to bridge the gap between young neurologists, the broader medical community and the general public. This ensures that vital information and innovations are shared efficiently and effectively. My goal is to create an engaged, informed, and connected community that supports professional growth and improves healthcare quality."

SECRETARY | Marie Louise Aicher

“My name is Marie Louise Aicher and I am the secretary of the SAYN Board. I work as a resident in neurology at the Inselspital in Bern. SAYN is not only a great network for exchange among neurology residents throughout Switzerland, but also a central body for advocating good training and working conditions. It is also a lively place for further training on core and peripheral neurological topics during workshops as well as inspiring conversations at apéros.

As secretary, I would particularly like to promote good communication among all SAYN members, with the SNG and other institutions and support our president and vice-president in their tasks.”

TREASURER | Florian William Sander

"Hi, I'm Florian Sander, the SAYN's junior treasurer. Born and raised in Luxembourg, I did  my medical studies in Paris, and I am currently doing my neurology specialization as well as clinical research between Lausanne and Geneva. I am very excited to have joined the Swiss Association of Young Neurologists as a board member to try and have an impact on the betterment of our education and working conditions."

EVENT OFFICER | Vincenzo Paolo Introcaso

"My name is Vincenzo Introcaso; since November 2023, I have been the junior event officer of the Swiss Association for Young Neurologists. I am 31 years old and from Pavia, Italy. After completing my medical degree in my hometown, I started my neurology training in Germany, and I moved to Bern in March 2022. Through my position on the SAYN's board, I aim to organise interesting events where people can spend productive learning time in a fun and easy-going atmosphere. Passion, ambition, and curiosity for new challenges have always been the driving forces behind my decisions. I wish for a future in a university hospital where I can combine clinical activity with clinical research."
