All you need to know about SAYN activities, sessions, and awards at Swiss NeuroWeek 2026!

The Swiss NeuroWeek 2026 will be taking place at BERNEXPO this year between 18-20 November. During this week, we have several exciting opportunities for SAYN members, including abstract prizes, clinical case presentations, and ePoster submissions.


Abstract submission

The abstract submission platform for Swiss NeuroWeek 2026 is officially open. SAYN members have the opportunity to submit the abstract for the Best Free Communication (Clinical Research and Basic Research). However, this year, there is also a special category available for SSCN / SAYN Case Reports

  • All abstracts must be submitted via the NeuroWeek abstract portal
  • All submission follows the official NeuroWeek abstract guidelines
  • Deadline: Sunday, 28 June 2026

SSCN / SAYN Case Report Session

During the NeuroWeek, SAYN will be involved in a dedicated clinical case session in collaboration with the SSCN / SGKN. Selected abstracts will be invited for oral presentation and the SSCN/SKGN Secretariat will provide framed awards as well as a 1000 CHF Prize to the winners of each category. Case reports that are not selected for oral presentation can still be submitted and evaluated as ePosters (following the same abstract guidelines). This Session is planned to take place on Wednesday, 18 November 2026 from 13:45 – 15:00 in Rooms Deck 3 and 4


SAYN Sessions at NeuroWeek 2026

SAYN will have 2 dedicated sessions during the NeuroWeek 2026.

  1.  SAYN Forum will take place on Friday, 20 November 2026 from 08:30 – 09:30 in in Rooms Deck 3 and 4. It is planned as parallel session, with the focus on current initiatives, networking, and professional development for young neurologists.
  2. SAYN GemSession will take place on Friday, 20 November 2026 from 11:15 – 12:15 in in Rooms Deck 3 and 4. It is planned as a parallel session with the aim to highlight clinical and research cases from SAYN members.

Awards & Prizes for SAYN Members

The following prizes will be awarded during Swiss NeuroWeek 2026:

  1. SSCN / SAYN Case Report Prizes

During the session, selected abstracts featuring short case reports or interesting neurophysiological findings in neurovascular ultrasound, EEG and ENMG will be presented by residents. Only SAYN members are eligible for this prize. A price of CHF 1,000 (funded by SSCN) will be awarded in each category. More details are available on the official website

  1. Déjérine-Dubois Prize (SNS)

The Déjérine-Dubois Prize is awarded for the Best Free Communication (Clinical Research and Basic Research) presented at the SAYN GemSession. Only SAYN members are eligible for this prize. The prize money is CHF 1,000. We encourage all members to review the eligibility criteria on the official congress website and apply.


SAYN Autumn Workshop

The SAYN Autumn Workshop is taking place on 20-21 November this year, immediately after NeuroWeek. We wanted to allow our members to build on the momentum of the congress and continue the exchange of ideas. We look forward to strong participation from SAYN members and for interactive discussions on the work of young neurologists in Switzerland!
