Overcoming the Pay Gap in Neurology

09.01.2023

Female self-employed medical doctors earn 25 % less than their male colleagues in Switzerland.

According to recent statistics from the Federal Office of Health, after adjusting for part-time work, this difference was on average 38% for Neurologists.

This gap in income for Swiss female Neurologists is highly problematic, and reflects inequalities between women and men.

WIN (Women in Neurology) has called for actions towards identifying the underlying reasons and create equal, fair pay for neurologists, independent of sex and gender.

The SNS strongly supports equal opportunities for all Neurologists, as well as activities to overcome the Pay Gap in Neurology.
