«Epilepsy Nurses»: New opportunity to participate

05.10.2026

Through its «Epilepsy Nurses» pilot project, the Swiss League Against Epilepsy promotes the training and deployment of nursing professionals specialising in the care of people with epilepsy. Swiss hospitals can once again apply to participate as project partners.

With the «Epilepsy Nurses» pilot project, the Swiss League Against Epilepsy supports the establishment and development of specialised nursing services for people with epilepsy. Nursing professionals or specialists in neurophysiological diagnostics receive targeted further training and subsequently take on responsibilities in the care and counselling of people with epilepsy and their relatives.

The Swiss League Against Epilepsy supports participating institutions for two years, including with further training and salary costs. At the same time, project partners benefit from exchanging experiences with other «Epilepsy Nurses» and from establishing a specialised counselling service.

The first part of the pilot project has already largely been completed. Upon request, interested institutions can also get in touch with «Epilepsy Nurses» who are already participating in the project in Zurich, Tschugg near Bern and Geneva.

Who can participate?

We are looking for medical institutions in Switzerland that provide inpatient and/or outpatient care to adults and/or children with epilepsy and that can appoint a suitably qualified professional for this new role.

Further information on the participation requirements and funding can be found here.
