SFNCS Swiss Brain Health Plan (SBHP)
The SFNCS Swiss Brain Health Plan (SBHP) implements the Swiss Brain Health Strategy in line with the EAN Brain Health Strategy, which was launched by the WHO and the European Academy of Neurology EAN in 2022.
Brain health continues to receive insufficient attention. In many countries, there is a lack of targeted measures to promote brain health and prevent neurological and mental disorders. At the same time, there is a significant shortage of specialists from various professional fields to treat brain diseases—both globally and in several European countries. Despite the high prevalence and impact of neurological disorders, resources for research, education, and public awareness remain inadequate. Targeted and coordinated action is urgently needed.
The common goal is to raise awareness of brain health as a whole and to initiate prevention programmes. The strategic working group of the SFNCS Swiss Brain Health Plan (SBHP) consists of the authors of the publication "The Swiss Brain Health Plan 2023-2033".
