The management of spasticity requires experience and skills in a range of practical aspects. To ensure safe usage and optimal treatment response with botulinum toxin therapy, target structures must be correctly localized and injected. The objective of this course, with a focus on the Upper and Lower Limbs, is to foster the use of ultrasound as a guiding technique for injections on cadavers.

Der Workshop Hirntoddiagnostik erfüllt die Anforderung für eine strukturierte Ausbildung, um als Facharzt Intensivmedizin selbstständig Hirntoddiagnostik durchführen zu können, und bietet die Möglichkeit, vor Ort 2/5 der benötigten zertifizierten Prozeduren in einer Simulationsumgebung durchführen zu können. Zudem werden ethische und praktische Aspekte der Organspende diskutiert.

The workshop focuses on the treatment of patients with episodic and chronic migraine. It will provide in-depth insights into the mode of action of botulinum toxin and atogepant, along with hands-on injector training and discussions on the PREEMPT trial and phase 3 clinical studies.

• Evaluate spastic patients via neuroorthopedic examination

• Study evaluation techniques, including dynamic EMG and motor nerve blocks

• Define ptterns of spasticity with involved muscles and discuss therapeutic approaches

• Exchange experiences with peers
